Amphenol Push-Button Airbag Connector
Small, compact dimensions and quick mating are the benefits of the new airbag connector from Amphenol Automotive. The 'push-button' connector is a serviceable interconnection for the VDA/AK ر1mm interface which serves a user friendly one-step mating operation. A redesigned, scoop improved nozzle with three mechanical codings is reducing the danger of bended ignitor pins to a minimum. Because the width of this connector is only 12,8mm, it is well suitable for multi stage gas generator applications. A mono block ferrite is responsible for RFI/EMI suppression. The manufacturer's pre positioned CPA (connector positioning assurance) is becoming active only while mating the connector into the squib. It is increasing the pull out force of the connector to over 160N. Both terminals are selectively gold plated in the contact area and the wires are crimped for long term reliability. This new Amphenol airbag connector is available in form of complete cable assemblies, either with jacketed, twisted or single wires.
